For The Children Lewiston

As part of For The Children, Royal Family KIDS Camp gives abused and neglected children age 7-11 years a week of experiences that many of us take for granted. We promote resiliency, self-esteem, hope, and positive memories for hurting children. The camp curriculum and planned activities make certain that the children are experiencing truly life-giving activities throughout the 5-day experience.

Royal Family KIDS Camp teaches the children that there are loving people in this world, and safe places where they can actually be a kid. We give the children the royal treatment and let them play, laugh, and build positive relationships, with none of the concerns of their day-to-day lives. We show these kids that they are special and deserve good things. We give hope to children that believed their situation was hopeless! At camp, we model and introduce campers to wise, healthy, and safe choices. Campers are taught that they do not have to be defined by their past. It is especially powerful when a former camper returns as a volunteer, serving as a positive example of what is possible when campers make wise choices.

The Lewiston Royal Family KIDS Camp is sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church. We collaborate with other churches, local organizations, and community members to make a difference in the lives of suffering children in the LC Valley and surrounding counties.

The Child Placement Coordinator at camp works directly with the local human services agencies and elementary school counselors to find children that are eligible to attend our camp. Because we raise all funds for camp and camp is volunteer-run, there is no cost to the children, families, or the state for attendance.
